Long time no see! I'll first apologise for not posting in such a long time but it has been a combination of things. I don't have good enough lighting for taking pictures, i'm lazy, was too busy actually painting, i'm lazy, i've been working and lastly i'm lazy.
You will notice that all of these models are Raven Guard, apparently i love space ninja's but the Son's of Horus will return by christmas.
Ill start off by showing you the completed Leviathan Siege dreadnought in its completed glory.
I managed to get his base done and have decided to go with an earthy rubble strewn look to match my battlemat that we use in our games. The eagle eyed among you will notice an Alpha legion helm, to represent the bitter battles with Syra's Alpha Legion. He really is an awesome mini and he beats serious face in game too, from rival Leviathan's to Sicaran Tanks, nothing is safe.
Next up is my Sicaran the "Raptor Vigilant"
This was my first real crack at chipping on a vehicle and at some point it was almost an experiment, as i did not want to have unrealistic highlights, so i opted to high light the edges with battle damage, and i'm happy with the result. Whilst not as good as Buteo's or Syra's vehicles i had fun painting this bad boy. The transfers from Forge world really help this model pop, given all the flat surfaces. Pardon the missing sponson weapons they are yet to be finished.
You'll also notice the red stripe, as i wanted a colour to break up the black and white and i feel it adds just enough pop. I also wanted to fit in with lore of the Raven guard that veterans/Seargents or experienced units tend to have the Red stripe.
Next up on the Raven Guard conveyor belt of awesomeness is another beastly unit that has served faithfully many a games and is bathed in traitor blood like his brother..The contemptor!
This guy i painted in tandem with my Leviathan, and i believe this is one of the most under rated dreads that Forge world make, he's so cool in person and again so fun to paint. In game hes smashed many many foes and in a world full of spartan death stars and barrage/quad mortar spam i never leave home without him and he always seems to take names. All my dreadnought's are magnetised too, so these guys are able to have mortis configurations too.
Last but not least are my WIP Mor Deythan snipers. Do not sleep on these guys, in some games they have been an absolute nuisance for my enemy. I must admit i am struggling with the white shoulder pads on these guys and i am desperately trying to be patient, hopefully once i have completed the bases they wont look as bad.
So there you have it! I promise to be along soon with more pics of Ravens. Ill be churning the posts out now, as i have 3 legions to get done by the end of the year, as the other projects will start for the VI legion/ custodes and Mechanicum in the next 5/6 months.
See you soon
Sam B
